Prescription Drug Disposal – Sat., Oct. 26th – 10 am – 2 pm – two locations

Santa Clara Police Department and Kaiser Permanente will join with the Drug Enforcement Administration and offer the public, as well as members of the department, an opportunity to prevent pill abuse and theft by disposing their dangerous, expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs. Anyone will be able to drop off medications for disposal at the designated locations. The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked.

 Last April, Americans turned in 371 tons (over 742,000 pounds) of prescription drugs at over 5,800 sites operated by the DEA and its thousands of state and local law enforcement partners. In its six previous Take Back events, DEA and its partners took in over 2.8 million pounds—more than 1,400 tons—of pills.

 Time: 10am to 2pm on Saturday, October 26, 2013 only

 1. Santa Clara Police Dept., 601 El Camino Real  – Front parking lot

2. Kaiser (Santa Clara) Hospital, 710 Lawrence Expressway – enter the Kaiser driveway off Homestead Rd. and follow the signs.

Come and support our Soccer Jamboree this Sunday, Sept. 22nd – 8 a.m. – 1:30pm – Soccer Game against SCPD at 12:45pm – Central Park

Come and support our Santa Clara PAL Soccer program this Sunday from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.  There will be a Bounce House, Dunk Tank, Carnival Games, Root Beer Floats, food, beverages and music from KRTY country radio station. Also the PAL Coaches will play a soccer game against the Santa Clara Police Officers at 12:45 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.  Hope you can come and root for your favorite team! All proceeds benefit our PAL Soccer program.

Last Day to Sign-up for Soccer is this Friday, Aug. 2nd, 1-5pm – placement not guaranteed, please submit first

The last day to submit a Soccer application is this Friday, Aug. 2nd from 1pm – 4:30pm at the SC PAL Office, 601 El Camino Real (SCPD). Parking is available in front of the SCPD or across the street with parking stalls marked “Police Parking Only”.  You may also mail it in to be received by Friday.  Note: see Soccer Activities Page on our website (see right column) Click on Flier to read details of what to attach and submit in order to register your child properly. Note: If you do not  have a non-returnable 1 in. sq.current photo (on photo paper only) of your child we will not accept application so please have that attached to the application; along with a copy of their birth certificate or passport to show administrator and form of payment (exact cash, check or VISA/MC). Also, you may also turn in Parent  & Player Code of Conduct and Emergency Forms to us at time of registration.  All these forms are on our website. Please read flier for details it will help answer all your questions.  Note: once you submit your registration, a coach will call you no later than Aug. 15th to advise you of time & place of practices in Santa Clara. Not all coaches will call you on the same day, so please be patient.  If you have further questions, you may call our office at 408.615.4879. For those parents who work during the day, there will be a special time for you to come to sign up your child (ren) tonight from 5-7pm. Please bring a small current picture of your child (non-returnable 1.5″ square), copy of birth certificate or passport, $85 exact amount/check/MC or VISA to the Round Table Pizza, 2615 The Alameda, same shopping ctr. as Safeways near Santa Clara University (ph: 408.248.9123).
